A teaching seminar was given by Ms. Josephine ‘Skit’ Barile (head of the Information Technology Group) to address inquiries and help members of the FishBase and SeaLifeBase Team in executing MS Access queries in relation to their database tasks. Two newly-hired researchers (Fayte Sicnawa and Selina De Leon) gained primarily from this seminar which was held on 27 May 2019 at the Qq headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines.
Skit started her talk with a review of the database structure followed by a discussion on the different types of queries in MS Access. She enumerated steps in creating a select query and gave a demonstration of a handful of examples of common query requests gathered from the staff prior to the seminar.
The seminar went on much longer than expected due to the extent of the topic and the numerous questions from participants.
