Kathy works on data requirements and verification of AquaMaps, the species distribution modelling component of FishBase which matches species tolerances with environmental conditions to predict species ranges. Kathy is also involved in further development of AquaMaps systems for the marine and freshwater domains and coordinates the implementation of AquaMaps projects for different regions, including Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. She is also a member of the AquaX-Modeling Marine Life Core Team.
Outside of work, she enjoys leisurely grocery shopping, cooking old favorites or trying new recipes for the family, and relaxing with a book or a cup of coffee on breezy afternoons.
