Dr. Marivic Pajaro’s main focus of expertise is on community-based management of marine protected areas, a research area she developed from her doctorate studies under Dr. Amanda Vincent at the University of British Columbia. Marivic has widespread experience on participatory education and local knowledge promoting community coastal resources management, ethnoecology, and biodiversity conservation across various stakeholders including indigenous communities. Aside from her various commitments with environmental groups, Marivic leads an NGO (Daluhay Daloy ng Buhay) based in Aurora province, Philippines, from 2010 up to the present.
