Dr. Cornelia Nauen is President of Mundus maris – Sciences and Arts for Sustainability (2010-present), an international non-profit association which seeks to combine scientific concepts with practice embedded in local and global cultural spaces. She worked at FAO’s Fisheries Department on aquatic and coastal pollution issues and later in the species identification programme. She also served at the European Commission in development cooperation and international science cooperation (1986-2012) where she helped fund the early stages of FishBase. She received her PhD in fisheries science from Kiel University in Germany.
