Elaine De Guzman (BSc), Research Assistant

Elaine graduated from the University of the Philippines Los Baños with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, major in Ecology. She’s a Research Assistant at Q-quatics working on catch reconstruction within the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs) of maritime countries worldwide, a collaborative project with the Sea Around Us. Her role involves collecting and analyzing fisheries data, as well as conducting extensive literature reviews, and working closely with international partners and experts.

Outside of work, she enjoys creative outlets like reading and writing poetry. She’s also an avid gamer, spending her downtime playing video games. Additionally, she loves watching foreign food and travel shows and has a strong interest in learning new languages. For her, these activities provide a refreshing balance to her data-driven work, offering a chance to unwind and explore different aspects of herself.
