Justin is one of the Research Assistants in a project that involves updating global fisheries catch reconstruction to 2022, led by the Sea Around Us. His keen interest in the environment and its fauna dates back to his childhood where watching Animal Planet greatly influenced his undergraduate studies. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, major in Systematics, from the University of the Philippines Los Baños.
In his free time, he enjoys hiking on weekends, often visiting the Makiling Botanical Garden or the Mount Makiling Forest Reserve Trail with friends. Today, his interest in biodiversity and conservation revolves around marine wildlife and insects, as reflected in his posts on social media. Otherwise, he is a homebody who enjoys playing a few selected online games or scrolling through social media to keep up with his token K-Pop groups. Though you may often find him lurking in online spaces, he always seizes the opportunity to go out and enjoy the sun.
