Ruby has been with SeaLifeBase as a Research Assistant since 2014. She began handling the trophic ecology suite of tables for both FishBase and SeaLifeBase in 2015. To promote the growing span of work of SeaLifeBase, a global database on non-fish marine organisms, she writes blog posts to tell stories of the many wonderful creatures, from tardigrades to the charismatic sea turtles.
Today, she’s involved in the Sea Around Us‘ effort to automate global catch reconstructions.
In her free time, Ruby enjoys cooking, reading non-fiction books, playing guitar and learning Nihongo.
