To commence the “Underwater Video Image Analysis” project with Q-quatics , partners from the University of Western Australia (namely, Dr. Jessica Meeuwig, Director of Marine Futures Lab, School of Biological Science and Oceans Institute, and her PhD advisee Mr. Sean van Elden) trained QQ Species ID Team led by Rodolfo Reyes Jr., with members Rachel Atanacio, Michael Yap, Luisa Abucay, Jeniffer Espedido and Jeremy Jansalin, on video processing from 22-23 and 26-29 November 2018 at the Q-quatics headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. Visiting scientists from CAFS and SWIMS-HKU joined as observers. Qq Executive Director Dr. Mary Ann Bimbao together with the rest of the staff participated in the opening program. Dr. Rainer Froese (Senior Scientist at GEOMAR; FishBase Consortium Coordinator) graced the occasion to oversee the event. [more photos]
